I can't tell from your description if you have the clutch operating housing out of the front of the clutch housing. It is the round cover in the front that holds the pistons and bearings that operate the pto and traction clutches. The clutch valve is on the lh side of the clutch housing with the clutch control rods connected to it. The clutch valve and tubes have to be removed before the operating housing. Once the operating housing is out the hi-lo shift fork can be removed. Remove the pin and slide the shaft out of the fork to remove it. In the center of the hi-lo, remove the guide bushing for the trans pump shaft with a hooked wire. Behind that there is a short hollow drive shaft that has to be removed. There is an oil hole in the side of the shaft you can hook a wire in to pull it out. You will probably have to turn tho planetary gears to line up the splines for the shaft to come out and also support the weight of the hi-lo housing so the shaft will slide out. After the shaft is out, slide the hi-lo assembly forward out of the rear bushing and roll it over the pto gear. Hope this makes sense and sorry if I duplicated what is already done.
