I am searching for a certain 1971 1456 that my grandpa bought new and would like to locate again would be interested in buying if owner would sell. Or find out where or if its still around if owner isn't wanting to sell give him info if he changes mind. The serial number is UO15145 I know this is a shot in the dark but thought if I got the word out sometimes the world is much smaller than one thinks. Thinking it could be in NW IL somewhere so if you or a neighbor has one of these tractors if you could check the serial # that would be great. Could be anywhere tho. Last time we knew its where about was 1996 was traded into the Prophetstown Equip Case IH dealership Prophetstown IL now Birkey's and wasn't smart enough to buy it. The dealership has since been bought out by birkey's and the records have been destroyed. Any infomation or if anyone has a way to track down tractors off serial # would be awesome. My dad tells me we owned the tractor twice bought it new traded it for a different tractor and then bought it again that fall to use then got rid of it down the road later.
