The cold weather problems are now shifting to stream and river flooding. It hasen't happened yet, as temps are just above freezing now, but rain and 50's are predicted and the ice in streams is thick and can jam easily. NYSDOT has hired contractors with big trackhoes and some are starting to remove ice now. Others are on standby at problem spots, with equipment on site. Before the cold hit we had warm weathera and lot of rain and the streams just built more ice jams. If they let loose they will jam up somewhere else, and cause bigger problems. Loren, the Acg.
