: : Danny : I have a 1985 Craftsman with 38" deck and 11 hp briggs. Also have a 1990 JD STX 38. Guess which one is still running? JD of course. Have replaced the battery once and the blades and that is it. Has 400 hours on it and is not using oil yet. Craftsman has been junked out for 2 or 3 years now and had maybe 200 hours at most. Literally everything on it has given out. I'll stick to their hand tools only from now on. Yeah John, but what powers those two mowers? John Deere don't make the engine!
They got a better frame but, engine is Briggs,Kohler,or other! Peerless made drive train for A BUNCH OF THEM.You're paying for green paint,as far as a lawn tractor is concerned. Mike....
