Are there slots or recessed holes on the face of the plug that holds the seal? If so, and the set screw is on the side of the cylinder, then the set screw probably keys the plug. If so remove the set screw and unscrew the plug out of the end of the cylinder with the appropriate tool. (spanner wrench or hammer & punch) If you are beating on it be careful to stay away from the threads of the cylinder. Good Luck, Andy
