I might remind you of a few things that you may have overlooked. The clutch plates you showed earlier looked like the low/reverse plates from a 4L60. Consider: Something caused them to burn as they did. Unless you repair the cause of the failure, your $11.80 repair will last a little while and fail again sooner than later. At a minimum, I would suggest that you do the following: 1) reseal the clutch piston 2) replace the gaskets and seals that you have disturbed (pump gasket, pan gasket, etc.). 3) replace the filter. 4) remove the valve body and check the seperator plate. This transmission uses steel check balls. They will beat their way through the plate in time and cause failures like yours.
If you should just replace the burned clutches and out it back together, you will most likely see why shops charge as much as they do, and why many folks will not bother with a repair - and just replace it with a remanufactured unit.
