About six months ago I was having difficulty getting my Explorer out of park. I knew that it tied into the brake pedal, but I took it to the local repair shop. They found that it was due to an earlier remote start install that was not properly done. It cost me I think $200.00. A couple weeks ago I started having the problem again, so I decided to check it out myself, and found where they had "kind of" wrapped some tape around some wires. After wiggling it was a lot better, but by pressing the brake pedal while backed into my shop and watching in the mirror I could see that the brake lights were not always coming on. So yesterday I went surfing for a switch, with the idea that my local Ford dealer might want $150.00 for that fifty cent switch. The first site must have been Fords own. I found the switch for $90.00 plus shipping. I looked a little more and found it at Parts Train for $23.00 plus shipping.
