Been on both sides of this fence. Farmer and small engine repair/firearms sales. Very frustrating to have the company that sells me parts sell it directly on the interent for less than they charge me for it BEFORE shipping costs. Very frustrating to have Wally-World sell a gun for about my cost before shipping. Only way to get the same pricing is to become super big and buy hundreds or thousands of any given item at a time. For the typical small business guy, ordering special parts for older eguipment is an incredibally diffcult hassle and nearly always a money loser (especially for anything under $100) . Sad, but that's the way it is. Now that I'm no longer in business I find myself buying as much on-line as I buy locally also. Would like to buy locally, but like all of the rest of you, I don't have money to throw away either. And with the price of gas it makes you think twice about driving into town for parts.
