I think this is one of those situations where you get no spark and put in a new condenser and you get spark. While you were putting in the new condenser you did something else, intentionally or not that actually corrected the problem with out you knowing it. I used to keep condensers that were blamed for problems and reuse them just to satisfy my own beliefs that there was something else that caused the problem. They are made in different capacitys for different applications but they are normally good or not. Pretty simple electrical part. We used to have a tester for capacity, resistance and leakage in case someone was having a problem we could test them.
