Cut a Fram, AC, and Motorcraft filter apart and you will see why they are cheaper that a good filter, then cut a NAPA gold, Carquest and a Wix apart and you will see the difference, they are worth a little more money, check the filter media, the number of pleats, the check valve and pressure relief spring and overall quality. Put a $3 buck filter on a $25,000 car?? Or a $35,000 truck?? Not me, I use Amsoil and Wix filters, I don't care what they cost. The main thing no matter what you use is to change on schedule. I run a fairly long interval with synthetics, it's what works for me, I like to think I'm conserving Natural Resources.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
