HAD A GUY SHOW UP HERE ONE SPRING MORNING WHEN THE WIFE AND I WERE GETTING THE CORN PLANTER READY. HE WAS WEARING SOME REAL TREE CAMEO THAT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD BEEN PRESSED. I got a wiff of him as he approached and he smelled like he had bathed in perfume. He struts right up to us and introduces himself as a TV personality who has his own hunting show. Say, I see a lot of wild turkeys on the fields around here and I am looking for the landowner. Do you know who they may be? The wife says "I do and no you can't hunt on our farm. He goes right on talking, telling us that he will be giving us credits when his show airs and he will not harm our farm. Will just be a show about turkey hunting with me [him] and my guest hunters.
By now the wife has had enough of him and responds with" what part of no don't you understand"? He keeps right on talking so I start the tractor and pull away and the wife goes into the house leaving him there alone.
When I asked her what else was said after I left she said that she told him if he wanted to hunt there she would sell him the farm but she is not sure he heard her because he never stopped talking.
Yes we have a large turkey and deer population here but we are the ones who grow the crops that feed them and we pay the taxes and costs of owning the farm. We have lots of family and friends that hunt our properties and we do not needs some tv dude who wants to make money from our hard work. Let him buy his own hunting property and make all of the hunting vieos he wants.
