I've been using up a tank of diesel that was filled in 1992. I.e., 22 years old and no problems. But it is the "old" diesel. The new ultra-low sulfur diesel is much more apt to retain water and get bacteria. The "new" diesel also gels at higher temps. Today's ultra-low sulfur before any additives can gel at 6-10 degrees F. Modern low sulfur kerosene gels at 30 below F.
