We're losing the ability to spell words "correctly" and, with all of the electronic marvels that helped bring this about, I can't see it improving, ever. I went to a one room country school where spelling bees were a common occurrence. I remember getting downgraded from an A to a B one time on a paper I wrote for spelling practically the way I just did. Teacher (an old, old spinster) insisted that it was "practickly".
