: The ol' M was giving me a real slow stop when I was going for the brakes and so I tore one apart to clean it and have a look around. Now, I have always read, been told, and just down right assumed that all Farmall M's have band brakes. Once I got it apart, I realized that there was no recognizable brake band in there. Instead, there is a disc that apparently presses against the housing. Am I wrong ?Is this stock? What happened to that easy-to-service brake band I was so looking forward to meeting? Thanks for any help... You could get a field kit to switch them over. The very latest M's - some came trough with disc.(last 50 or so. Maybe you have a Super M??? Personaly, I would rather have the band brakes. All of the 300 and 350 I have the disc brakes are alot of trouble.
