you really have no choice but to use unleaded, and while I'm not a mechanic, I've talked to several who suggested using Marvel Mystery Oil as a gas additive. Seems that unleaded gas is hard on the valve seats, and this helps to protect them somehow. Hope this helps. I give my vote for Marvel Mystery Oil! I am a mechanic and the shop where I work had a couple of gas engine tractors with loaders and forks for loading. The engines on these Hydro 70's were always being abused, just by normal use. Quick starts and low engine rpm's are always hard on the upper lube. We didn't use the Marvel Mystery Oil, simply because the shop wasn't in charge of the tractors, and it may be more work for us. Unleaded fuel burns hotter than leaded fuel. The lead additives helped the explosion of the fuel come in a more controlled manner. Higher octane fuels usually have more additives. You normally won't get as bad of a fuel knock with higher octane gas, and may be able to advance the timing a couple more degrees, and get more work/gallon. Your tractor will know that you love it! I'd use the Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel on my own tractor to be kind to it on many times of short useage. I'd also put some in the engine oil on a gas engine.
