I've had several and love them. 3 were after market ones. One of them sensed the ambient temp and when the car had been setting 4 hours and the temp was 0F or colder it would start and run 15 minute. Never had a cold start problem with that car. Never had any issues with any of out remote starters.
Of the aftermarket ones I liked the "Bulldog" brand one the best. It came with a code and you went to their site, entered the code, the year make and model it was being installed in and you could down load the instructions and wiring diagram for your vehicle. That was also the one that auto started at 0 or colder.
I'll never have another vehicle without one. We keep the keys out of reach of grandkids.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
