Around here they have to be registered and have 3 inch numbers visible on the sides. Maybe if you are lucky you might be able to see the numbers with some binoculars or something. They also have to belong to a snowmobile club before they can register the machine. I gave the local snowmobile club permission to cross my land, way back in the woods. I had a problem one year and told the club that they have one year to clean up their act or no more trail , they straightened everything out and no more problems. I sure wouldn't want them running all over the place. In this state MA they have Environmental Police, they will go after problem snogoes if they have have the reg. number. different in every state I guess, Good luck.
