Thats what happens when there is no charge (its free afterall) to make offers in a short amount of time. With craigslist, a buyer can fire off hundreds of emails in a short amount of time with insanely low offers. With just a 1% sucess rate, it makes it a very profitable business. The only way to stop it is to waste the buyers time. If somebody emails asking if you will take $150 for your $2000 truck, just email back saying "Sure, if you bring cash and get here by 5pm". Then, send the buyer to some other address (I send them to the mean old man up the street, he could use the company). If enough people waste the time of the buyers that are less than serious, they will have no choice but to quit. If it isnt profitable for them, they wont do it, its as simple as that.
