No they are not. Year-around was founded by Mert Anderson and he started building cabs before Hiniker but his was a straight sided cab. When Hiniker started building cabs he made a "diamond" shaped cab which provided much more room for the operator. Upon seeing this and losing many sales to Hiniker, Year-around copied Hinikers design making only slight changes so as not to infringe on Hiniker patent. However Hiniker thought it was so closely copied that they sued to protect their patent. Lawsuit went on for years. Not sure how that ever turned out. There difference is so subtle that unless you are very familiar with the cabs you could not tell the difference. Incidentally both companies were in Mankato and in the early years before they started manufacturing Hiniker and Anderson were in some farming ventures together. Mert Anderson lived on one of Hinikers farms which is just a half mile across the field from where I am sitting typing this.
