Stabil used to work fine for me, until ethanol was in ALL the gas. Last time I used Stabil (over a year ago) I got little slimey dregs in my gas which did not work well with carburators on my small engines nor my gas tractor. It would start trying to die (plugging up the main jet) and I would have to choke it to suck the dregs thru. Then it was ok for a while.
Same with Briggs and Kohlers I have.
Started using Startron on a recommendation from my brother and the problems went away. Same gas source, etc. Only change was the additive.
The first power outage this winter my genny started right up and ran great with year old gas with Startron additive.
Stabil will do fine in fuel injected engines with the pressure to blow the dregs thru the injectors. I burned the last of my Stabil gas in my Subaru, ran fine.
I expect that the Seafoam type additive works fine but sticking with something that I personally know works for me.
