Sciatica

Posted by John in La on February 23, 2014 at 14:41:24 from (96.33.136.54):

I have suffered with Sciatica for most of my life. In fact I have a medical discharge from the USAF because of it. The A.F. took lots of x-rays and I was even in the hospital at Kelly AFB but since MRI was a thing of the future no one was able to give me a root cause of the problem.

Since the pain only seemed to flare up a week or two every few years; was isolated to my right hip and bearable; you learn to live with it.

You learn not to wear a wallet in your back pocket and get out to walk around for a few minutes on long trips in the car.

Then about two weeks ago something let loose.

A sharp pain went down my right leg. My right foot has felt cold and a sensation of pins and needles last till today.

The only relief I get is laying down; while walking and moving around is not so bad sitting is another thing all together. I can wake up in the morning and feel great but just in the time of getting dresses and sitting on the edge of the bed makes my hip and leg start to hurt.

But hopefully tomorrow (Monday) we can find out the cause and cure as I am headed to the doctors office to get a MRI done of my lower back.

Need to find the cure and quick as my DOT physical is due next month. If I can not pass my physical at that time my CDL will become null and void under the new rules.

Kind of a oversight in the new rule. You get sick or hurt at just the right time; and even though you get better and can now pass the physical it does you no good because the state has done made your CDL worthless.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
