St Croix Falls WI warming up this morning . Almost 9:00 AM and it's already up to -17* F . We must remember that 11,000 years ago the ice here is estimated to have been a mile thick . Lotsa nice rounded glacial rocks around here !! Ever wonder why cities and other man built stuff turns up in 90 ft of water ? Do you think covering the upper and lower portions of this planet with DEEP ice sheets would lower the sea level significantly ? We definitely know melting this ice cover raises them now don't we ? I've seen the global warming club beating the drum here but I personally put more credit to things like krackatoa , The piece of space junk that hit near the Yucatan peninsula 65 million years ago and when Yellowstone goes off next . THAT will trigger MAJOR climate change like BIG eruptions always do . FWIW this winter and the last half of last winter remind me of when I was a kid in the late 50's and early 60's . NASTY - COLD & SNOWY . Sorry bout the angry rambling but I want to play with my new JD toys but there is so much snow on the flat here I get stuck with my snowmobile . Last time we had that was in the early 80's .
