I guess you could call this my first date, and a blind date at that. The year was 1956, I was seventeen, driving a '41 Ford pickup, stopped by my uncles one Sunday afternoon. His wife's brother was there with his family which included his reasonably attractive 16 year old daughter. My uncle pulled me aside and said the young lady was kinda bored, "Take this $10.00 and my car and show her what our town looks like." We got up with some other kids I knew and had a nice evening. His personal car, (not the family sedan) was a pristine 1948 Plymouth coupe, and he didn't let just anybody drive it either! I think I was more concerned about his car than the young lady! Saw her a couple more times the next week and they went back to whatever state they lived in. Never saw her again. The fastest vehicle I owned was a red 1964 Impala 2dr. hdtp. 250hp. 327/3spd. I had it going past 110one day and had to back off because I ran out of straight road. There was only one road in the area that had enough straight that I could have wound it out, but everyone else knew it as well as the SHP, so I didn't try that. I put almost 95000 miles on that car in three and a half years and never did know just how fast it would run.
