Not apples to apples but I had a V10 E350 van. Averaged better than the E350s with the V8's we had in the fleet.
I looked at a V10 2500 Dodge. Research showed average mileage from owner reports was 9-10mpg. Low of 6, high of 12. 9-10 is what I get in my 'Burb with a 350. Just bought an F350 crew with a 351 and expect I'll get about the same. If you want a big truck you either pay for gas or pay for a diesel and then pay for diesel and maintaining it. That's just life.
