Interesting discussion I'm having with the county and whether I need a title for the trailer I just bought. It's a gooseneck and the only definition on their site it falls under is fifth wheel. It says on the state site that a title is not required. They insist that I must get a title because it's over 5,000 lbs (nothing mentioned on the state site about that).
So, it's all over about $18 and the fact that I want it done correctly and by the book. I am going to have to pay tax anyways and I don't want to pay more that my fair share. I already had to pay 6.5% of the value of the vehicles I already had bought and paid taxes on years ago just to get them titled in Georgia when I moved here.
So, here is the link and I'll let you guys comment on where it falls by the state guidelines. It's a 28'x102" Loadtrail gooseneck trailer.
