Nonetheless, the oil fill is on top of the tranmission shifter housing. The spec calls for SAE90W mineral oil in Summer and SAE80W in winter. Most people use a good Universal Tractor Fluid (UTF) the meets the MF specs. Some people use engine oil. It takes 24 qts (6 gallons) to fill the transhydraulic system and if you are draining the system there are three drain plugs on the bottom and you should let it drain overnight. It's wise to take off the right side access panel to clean the sumps if you can. If you pull the pto shaft(4 nuts) you can get access to all the sumps, spray some diesel or other solvent in and mop all the sluge out before you replace the fluid. (I would recomend using the tractor and draining the fluid while it is still warm.) When filling, replace all the removed parts and leave the bottom bolt out of the right hand access panel. Fill through the transmission port with five gallons of fluid and let the fluid equalize for a few hours. The put the last gallon in. Jeff(OH) has a sump cleaning method he has posted in the archives or in the TIP OF THE DAY so you might look that up.
