Hey all, I figured i'd give an update since I have posted a couple times recently about my search for a one ton dump. Last time I posted I was between an 83 dodge fixer-upper and an 84 chevy 350 rack... Well...I ended up with a '95 chevy 3500 with an 8' mason style body on the back. The interior is rough...but the motor (454) runs strong and the front end, rear end and tranny are good. Paid $1800, only needs a windshield.
I was surprised, insurance on a 1 ton dump is slightly cheaper than it was on my 3/4 ton pickup from the same era...in NYS we need commercial ins. on any non-standard pickup body, even if it is for personal use...so that was pleasing...I was nervous that insurancewould put me in the poor house.
Future project is replacing the bed...
anyway, just wanted to give the final update.. Thanks for all the tips and advice.

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
