He went off and I just thought that maybe he was not well or something. A lesson I've learned in life is that you just can't be friendly to a ferrel cat. His style runs contrary to what we all want to do here. If he can't behave then I say good riddance. His advice was marginal at best and even if he did have good advice theres always the genetic fallacy -which is the message may be right, but due to the source the message is not taken seriously. The Forum moderators did the right thing.
Who died and made you the representative of "all of us" here? I haven't seen any brilliance in posts with your handle on them. "Genetic fallicy"??? Really? So you resort to name calling at a guy who isn't here to defend himself? Wow.
There are a lot of prickly characters here. It's what makes things interesting. Personally, I'd lots rather read what Old had to say than some others that play nicey-nice all the time and bore me to tears, but that's just me.
Anyone sees or talks to Old, tell him I said "Hi!" and that he's missed.
Genetic fallacy is a conclusion not a person. I copied and pasted the definition of a genetic fallacy from a google search:
Question: "What is the genetic fallacy?"
Answer: A genetic fallacy is an illogical argument for or against an idea based on the origin of the idea.
An example of a genetic fallacy would be a Case IH technician properly diagnoses the problem of a John Deere tractor, but because he works for Case IH and not John Deere I don't believe he's right. That would be a genetic fallacy. The fallacy is on the person RECEIVING the message, not GIVING it.

Today's Featured Article - A Lifetime of Farm Machinery - by Joe Michaels. I am a mechanical engineer by profession, specializing in powerplant work. I worked as a machinist and engine erector, with time spent overseas. I have always had a love for machinery, and an appreciation for farming and farm machinery. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Not a place one would associate with farms or farm machinery. I credit my parents for instilling a lot of good values, a respect for learning, a knowledge of various skills and a little knowledge of farming in me, amo
