Just kidding, I couldn't resist. Everyone knows the legend of Johnny Appleseed going around the country planting apple trees. Few know there were other guys going around the country building water towers & painting their names on them. Then when settlers came they decided it would be a good place to build a town, as there was a water system already in place. lol
But seriously folks, Florence Ky got into a big kerfluffel about 15-20 years ago. They put up a new tower near a shopping center & painted "Florence Mall" on it. Local merchants that were not connected with the shopping center complained that a city owned project should not be advertising their competition. Result was they changed the M to Y'. Now it says "Florence Y'all". Willie
