I used one on my first cutting alfalfa for a few years back in the late 70's. Neighbor owned it and it had seen a lot of use before I ran it. It did a good job, no problems and it crushed hay very well. It was decent load for my original low compression 1941 John Deere A.

I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned.
