The 990 was a great machine. Dad had two seven ft machines years ago and we made 20,000 small squares a year.We replaced the knife each year and greased them each morning.Do check the rolls and if it has the metal spirals make sure no metal is missing.Neighbor was mowing and a piece of the steel off the roll came loose and hit him in the head causing him to need stiches. Some machines has two rubber rolls and some had one steel and one rubber. We sold ours and went to NH machines because we felt the intermeshing rolls on the Nh helped to dry the hay faster. We needed perfect hay because most of our market was horse people. We never had any repairs other than normal wear parts.
