: : Is there any consensus on insuring tractors. I'd hate to see my garage burn down only to have my agent say, "We don't cover farm tractors." Or "These things are 50 years old, the Company says they are only worth $50 each." (I dislike the insurance industry if that is not apparent.) : : My insurance agent says that my homeowner's policy would cover one tractor since I stated that it was used for snow removal on my property. But now more tractors have appeared. So far I don't haul these tractors to shows, pulls, etc.. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions? : : Thanks : : John : Well John sorry you hate insurance...I'm an insurance agent and have 8 tractors...I got my company to list on my homeowners under a mobile agricultural floater....most companies should do this...your agent is correct...policies provide coverage for equipment used to maintain the premises but you'd have a hard time conviencing them you needed several tractors. I pay a specific rate on a stated amount of insurance...try to use a fair selling price. I have documents on values etc... a real insurance gap or no coverage appears if you enter tractor pools or competition...be sure you club has a policy......hope this helps I kind of received the same answer, but I haven't received the answer for what I need if I pulled a hay rack for a Hay Ride or a float in a parade. I'm not their yet but hopely this fall and will need answers so your question is timely.
