Walking thru the woods we came upon this guy. He must have been on an owl-nighter and didn't appear pleased to be bothered. Groggy like he didn't attempt to fly away, he did however hop over to some brush. We left him alone and after a while when we returned he was no where in sight. Think we could have tossed a net over him-- if we could sneak up from behind.
"Old Red" pulling tractor toy, John Hileman. owner, builder, driver was well known in his day, this tractor was demonstrated in Europe, and I saw it in a farm magazine long ago. He dropped out when staying competitive costs went thru the roof. There was a funeral and dinner at our church a couple years ago for a relative of John's wife. They were there and I thought of this brochure. Since it wasn't far I went home and got it to show him. As I recall he said he didn't buy one of those toys (originally $260 for a 1/16 scale). He autographed this brochure.
