Depends on what you use it for. If you try to wash a lot of grease and dirt, you will never beat hot water. No comparison. I have both, and I use the gasoline powered to wash eqt such as combines that all I want to do is blow the dirt off, but if you have grease and grime, it just makes all the difference in the world to have that hot water. I would look around, I would think you could find a hot water heater cheaper than $5000. Again. it depends on what you are doing with it and how much you use it. Good luck - Bob
