We used Mobil Delvac exclusively in all of our equipment at the Mines in Death Valley,CA . Mobil also has an excellent testing program. They supplied us with sample bottles & pre-labeled and pre-postage paid cartons for the sample bottles. Every month we would pull a sample from every piece of equipment & send them in to the Mobil Testing Lab, where they would run an extensive battery of tests on each sample and then send us back the reports. Some of the tests would show whether we had any excessive changes in the oil viscosity due to heat or length of service time, so that we could adjust the time intervals between oil changes; percentage of dust/dirt in the oil; percentage of acids in the oil; amount & type of metal particulates to determine if we had a bearing(s) going out; contamination from antifreeze; etc. .
