A friend of mine's husband is a big Sheffield Wednesday football ( soccer) supporter. She wanted a birthday cake making featuring his favourite team. so she asked her local baker to make one for him, she had seen examples of their work and was very impressed. The night before his birthday she went to collect the cake, only to find they had made a magnificent job of making a cake but it was iced in RED and white icing ( not Blue and White as it should have been) with rival team's Sheffield UNITED football team's badge in the middle! a team that she knew that he hated. Of course she was furious but it was too late to have another cake made . She asked me what to to do so I suggested she presented her husband with a big knife , then give him the box with the cake in and say "Here you are, something you might want to stick your knife into!" then explain to him what actually happened . She did that and fortunately he saw the funny side of it.
