When I was growing up everyones father and grandfather was either a Korea, WW2 or WW1 vet. A couple were veterans of the Banana Wars or of chasing Pancho Villa around. There were even a few old men who were in the Spanish American war. They didn't talk about it, at all. I don't know why. They went and did their job and came home and worked. That was that. I know guys that have been to Afghanistan and Iraq for many tours that have been in the thick of it that seem right as rain and others that did one tour and are all messed up. Nieces alcoholic hubby cannot drive a car to this day or ride in one without breaking into a sweat. And yet he's a big wig with a private security firm.
