A buddy of mines' father was WW2 vet. He was one of the first men ashore on Guadalcanal. He said that the first couple of days were "Pretty Rough". He got through that and then got hit by a truck the third day. He said by the time he got back on the line everyone he had come ashore with had been killed.
A distant cousin of my fathers served on the New Jersey during the Korean War. He told me that cutting loose a salvo with those main guns was an experince you didn't forget right away!

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
