Horses are living much longer now due to better medical care and advanced feeds for older horses. I put down my beloved American Saddlebred about 5 years ago at age 36. She was the best riding horse I have ever owned. She was every bit a Lady in her temperament (good and bad)and extremely friendly, putting her muzzle on my shoulder when she wanted attention. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done to put her down, but she was wasting away and had no quality of life towards the end. God Speed, Mindy!!
