DRECKLY: Derivative of ‘directly’. An indeterminate period of near-future time, as in, “Just settle down and hush! I’ll git to that dreckly!” Used interchangeably with ‘after while’. IMOANA: Contraction for ‘I’m going to…..’. Refers to a planned future action, not a destination, as in, “Imoana run into town and get some beer”. SHED, or SHET: To discard, be rid of, as in, “It’s turned off hot; Imoana have to get shed of this jacket”. SET HOSSES: Effect a fortunate pairing, as in, but not exclusive to, a team of horses. It might be said of two people who were unable to get along with each other, “Paw and Uncle Ezra just never were able to set hosses.” ANTIGODLIN: Southern architectural term meaning askew, out of plumb or square, or positioned at a peculiar angle, as in, “That barn of his sets antigodlin to the road”. ROASTNEAR: Corn on the cob. P!SS CHUNK: Watermelon. MUSHMELON: Cantaloupe. NANNERPUDDIN: Banana pudding. POTLIKKER: Liquid generated by boiling greens.

Today's Featured Article - Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor.
