I had it awhile back and had to get my computer repaired to fix the problem. Best I could tell, it had come in on what appeared to be a JAVA update, which I okayed. Unfortunately, unlike the older viruses, there was no going back and resetting as the latest versions as it locked you out of everything.
That said I have had it pop up a few times lately, when surfing, as a 'web page'. I don't know how else to describe it, but I would be on one site and it would open in it's own tab. The first time I thought I was screwed but it wasn't as bad as I thought. What I did was to not click on the screen at all. Instead I hit the off button and immediately shut the computer down. From there I restarted holding F9 until the screen came up asking what to do next. From there I hit F8 and chose to 'Restart at the last known good configuration'. This has happened several times and so far I've dodged the bullet.
I think what happens is that you have to click on something to give it permission to make any changes to your computer. By immediately shutting down and then restarting from a known good place it eliminates any way it may have had to get into the system. Can't say anything for sure as I'm no computer guru, but it's worked for me.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
