I always wondered what it would be like to be drafted. As a kid I was never big on authority, or being told what to do. I could never imagine being forced into that lifestyle.
Of course, it probably would have been the best thing for me!
I wonder, those of you who were drafted - what was that moment like when you got notified?
I would have been planning my trip to Canada.
Not that I'm anti-military, not at all - just, again, at that age - ask me to do something and I'd move the world for you, but TELL me to do something and it wasn't getting done.
Being forced into it would have really set me off.
Wondering if you guys were upset? - was it a surprise or were you pretty much expecting it? - were you p'd off? - just took it in stride? - scared? - just saw it as your duty?
