A wood barn floor lasts a surprisingly long time. Most times the wood wears thin and the nails rust out but the floor doesn't rot. The manure must have a preserving affect. Wood is warmer and drier than cement. Downfall is it is not a sanitary floor by any means. Cement is easier to clean with a shovel and pitchfork. I've torn up old wood hog house flooring and reused it in other places. It takes on a dark color and is full of rusted nails but it's usually in good shape aside from being worn. Jim
