98 Buick with that 3.8 engine all I ever run is 10-40. 98 Plymouth Vovager with 3.0 same 10-40, if take to shop and they put in 10-30 (Called for in both) at about 800 I have to add oil, if the 10-40 then do not need to add for 2500 miles. The van shows 230,000+ hard stop and go miles, averigning 2 stops per mile for several years on rual paper route. The only thing that does not have the 10-40 is the 06 Caravan with 3.3 just recently purchassed and it calls for 5-20 I think but as soon as it starts using oil or showing low pressure in goes a heavier oil.
