: I just bought a used MF-165 Diesel, I bought an IT service manual but it is pretty vague. : Problem: When you start the tractor the drawbar goes up by itself. The only way it will go down is when it eventually drifts down after the engine is shut off. My guess is this should be a pretty simple problem and it's a problem with the valve that hooks to the lift lever. What do you think? And can I get to this valve by merely removing the hydraulic lift plate under the seat, or is there linkage and the valve is mounted on the hydraulic pump. If that is the case it probably means splitting the tractor. I am going to go to my local MF dealer and hopefully the service manual they sell is more detailed. I'd appreciate any input. : I have rebuilt several car motors and automatic transmissions so I'm sure I'm up to the task. : Thanks in advance. : Charlie
