I am far from an expert on those fords, but you do realize that originally, 6 volt system used a resister and the coil basically operates on 3 volts. I am under the impression this is a front mounted distributor. You could sub a regular 12 volt coil mounted externally with a little handyman wiring otherwise you are going to have to adjust the resistance so you have about 3 volts coming into the coil when current is flowing through coil and points.
