I wish I knew more about it, whats safe, what kinds you can only have 1 serving a month or something etc. Fish is a healthy food, problem is where they live, what contaminants are present, things like mercury like with the celebrity/actor Jeremy Piven, I remember a story about this guy having to take a brake from his career, he was enjoying a lot of Salmon and ended up with some serious problems over it. Like I said I wish I knew more about it, locally the Hudson, forget anything you catch there and would like to eat, PCB levels, who knows what else.
Years ago, sewer mains ran directly to the river, ok, so we developed treatment plants and the nasty turbid waters of biological hazards have been mostly eliminated, well unless systems are overwhelmed, organic waste, disease laden but that was relatively easy to solve, its all the industrial waste. Ive even heard of industry like leather manufacturing, putting their operations on ships to get into international waters so they don't have to abide by regulations, laws etc., worked with a guy that was from the leatherstocking region in ny, worked for one of these outfits, he said they did this to reduce costs, liability etc. We certainly have ruined a lot of bodies of water, with things that don't go away so easily and are not good for us.
Locally we have a beautiful 7 mile long reservoir, man made lake in a valley with beautiful fields that abound both sides, woods etc, no residences are allowed to be built on its shores, many old farms around it, no motor or even non motor boats, if you even get caught with your feet in the water its a violation, some incredible fish in there, I used to take a lot of bass, perch from there, though its a water supply for the nearby city, I am not sure what could be in the fish, it has to be clean, always fun to fish there, you have to get a special permit to do so, aside from the state fishing license.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
