Case has the Steigers up to 615 rated flywheel HP that turn themselves up to up 685 in certain situations available now. A friend works for Titan said that they turned a 600 up to 750 for a guy, and he's saving a gallon per hour with the extra power. Magnums are up to 380 flywheel HP, the 340 turned itself up to 389 while moving with the PTO running and in road gears. Some of the Case/NH/Trimble units will let you plug in up to 4 cameras, but the autosteer takes up a port, so 3 when you are using it for guidance. You can bring up the video feed and watch part of your implement that's been giving you troubles, while it's steering you across the field. Watch the grain coming into the cart, inside the trailer when dumping the cart, etc. Trouble is the Trimble row controller won't play nice with JD hardware, so even if we put a second dome on the planter for more accurate location for it, we'd have to put a JD dome on it and get a different planter monitor to run its own GPS to control the row units automatically. JD has been set up with hydraulic meter drives, you can map the field with the GPS, then it will adjust your population as you're planting/drilling when you drive on/off the pivot/dryland automatically. Boss had a guy with a 24 row set up like that plant some pivots a few years ago and it saved a lot of time both planting and picking corn as you just drove to the edge of the field instead of having a bunch of short rows in the corner to get. Now JD and Kinze have electric meter drives that they claim are accurate to 9 or 10 MPH, but I wouldn't want to bounce myself or the equipment across a field at that speed, especially a planter that costs a couple hundred thousand. I'm running the Trimble FmX (FM1000 CIH/NH) system, which will allow up to 4 cameras, can control planters, sprayers, manure spreaders, and can survey a field and lay out terraces, waterways, or tile lines, and control 2 pans behind the tractor to build terraces or level a field.
