YES Heat is the answer. On those brass drill plugs if you heat them just until they start to give off that funny bright blue green color then let them cool they usually come right out no problem. No amount of soaking or boiling or carb cleaner till the cows come home will fix those clogged JD carb passages. You MUST remove the brass drill plugs then use long aircraft type No 40 and 53 bits to clean and bore the passages to their original size.
