The trout will be biting if you can get to them. While they are a tad late this year because of the cool spring they have moved out of the marsh and have moved into the bays hunting more salinity. The water temperature is in the mid to low 70's right now so they have turned on and it will last till the water temperature gets above mid 80's.
As long as the wind is down and you can get outside in the bays you can catch trout.
Redfish is a plan B this time of year in case the wind is blowing; unless you are hunting bull reds that live on the outside. I try not to chase bull reds as that is the breeding stock. Juvenile reds are still in the marsh so if the wind is blowing you can at least catch fish.
